The film follows Lane Meyer (John Cusack), who after his girlfriend dumps him for a ski-jock, decides to kill himself. However, he consistently fails at this as well, until a challenge to a ski-off with the jock gives him some motivation to live.

Eddie Murphy plays a guy who was paid a lot of money to crack jokes in the tank.
