Northern Lights (1997)
In this episode of Overlooked, Jamie and Milo are joined by Allison McClain Merrill to discuss the 1997 film Northern Lights. The movie stars Diane Keaton, who finds out that her estranged brother Frank has died in a small town, and that she has a nephew she didn’t know about. This film first aired on the Disney Channel and since then Disney has tried to distance itself from the movie. In this review, we try to find out why.
Northern Lights (1997)
I can’t tell you how much of a thrill it was for me just to type the words “northern lights.” I have been searching for this movie for a couple of years now. I didn’t want to buy a questionable $30 VHS tape online, so I waited it out, hoping that a generous ’90s Disney Channel fan would upload the film… because, ya know, it’s not on Disney+.
During the last episode of season 7 of “The 80s and 90s Uncensored” podcast, Jamie recommended people should see the movie “Indian Summer” without having seen the movie. So, Jamie and Milo sat down and watched the 1993 film written and directed by Mike Binder to see if it is worth watching this summer. Note: This video has a couple swear words in it.
