Weng Weng Retrospective

On the 80s and 90s Overlooked YouTube channel, Jamie and Milo reviewed a movie called For Y'ur Height Only (1981) starring a Philippine actor named Weng Weng. Besides being a movie star for a short time, he also inspired a drink called the Weng Weng. So the guys visit their local bar and have a few Weng Wengs while recording a retrospective of this mysterious 2'9" actor.

  • Ingredients

The key to the Weng Weng is using a small, equal measure of several different spirits.

    • 3/4 oz. vodka

    • 3/4 oz. tequila

    • 3/4 oz. brandy

    • 3/4 oz. bourbon (or Scotch)

    • 3/4 oz. rum

    • 1 oz. orange juice

    • 1 oz. pineapple juice

    • Dash of grenadine

    • Cubed ice

Note: Some variations may also include gin or triple sec.

    Instructions

    1. Fill a glass (a tall glass or even a pitcher if making a large batch) with ice cubes.

    2. Pour all the spirits into the glass.

    3. Add the orange juice and pineapple juice.

    4. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

    5. Add a dash of grenadine for color and sweetness.

    6. Garnish with an orange slice and/or a cherry, if desired.
